To respond to and improve the handling of Yurok Guardianship cases in the Yurok Tribal Court
- Adult Guardianships were established to further the cultural mandate to care for our elders and vulnerable adults
- Family Law Guardianships may be granted when it is necessary or convenient and in the best interest of a Yurok child
- Court Investigative Workers provide direct support and referrals for appropriate services to Family Law & Adult Guardianship cases
- Families are given an initial home visit and seen at least every six months
- Emergency services may be available such as food, clothing, shelter, and transportation services for families in tribal court who are at imminent risk of harm or neglect
